In the Veins of the Drowning

The monster is always slain...

Imogen Nel has been hiding for as long as she can remember. Hiding from a cruel kingdom that believes Sirens are monstrous, from a king who viciously hunts her kind and from her own alluring abilities. In keeping herself from the sea, Imogen''s bloodlust has dulled: her black wings concealed beneath her skin.

When a neighbouring king comes to visit, Imogen can no longer hide. For he knows exactly what she is - better yet, he believes Imogen is a lost Siren heiress who can save their kingdoms from an even greater monster.

Together they embark on a quest, traversing waters teeming with the undead, but as the lines between duty to their people and their desire for each other blurs, one thing becomes clear to Imogen: perhaps the only way to defeat a monster is by becoming one...

This is book one in the Siren Mage duology.
